A Career in Real Estate with
ARMSTRONG FIELD
, INC.

Newly licensed or experienced sales associates, the critical career decision is your choice of company affiliation.  It can be difficult to differentiate one real estate company from another.  They all operate somewhat differently, but offer what appear to be the same benefits and features.  How to decide?  Take a few minutes to read this and we think you will have a head start to making a wise decision

Field Real Estate, one of the most successful and highly respected real estate offices on the north shore of Massachusetts, was started by Lillienne Field during the 1940's and operated until 1978. James Field Armstrong formed Armstrong Field, Inc. as a continuation of Field Real Estate, offering the same committed service to his clients, agents and employees.

Armstrong Field, Inc. acknowledges that the foundation of a real estate office is the agent. This is the reason that every major decision that is made at Armstrong Field, Inc. includes the input of all of our full-time agents.

What do I have to do to become a real estate agent?

Your first step is to take the real estate pre-licensing course. This course consists of 8 three hours classes covering information on property rights and ownership, condominiums and coops, contract and deeds, financing, brokerage, appraisal, fair housing and consumer protection laws, and Massachusetts license law. The costs for this course runs about $200-$300. Below are a list of local schools that provide the necessary classes. When you have completed the course you will receive a certificate which entitles you to take the Massachusetts Real Estate Salesperson's exam. The exam consist of approximately 120 multiple choice questions. When you pass the exam you immediately receive your license and you may join a real estate firm. Some firms may hire you before you receive your license, but you cannot conduct any real estate business nor talk to any customers or clients about real estate until you have passed the exam and are licensed. Total cost to become a real estate agent including classes, testing and license fee is approximately $400-$500.
